What to Wear to Work: Mixed Patterns

Some of us may be nervous to mix patterns but it is time to stop being scared. I am from the Garanimals era, where people seem to like for everything to match from head to toe but the more I see mixed patterns, the more I love them!

My girl, Jacki rocked the mix patterns to work this week and I had to feature her on the blog!

The 2 patterns are similar, in the fact that they are both floral prints but still very different.

I would also like to welcome Miss Jacki to the natural hair club – She looks simply beautiful with the short cut she is rocking.

Do you like to mix patterns? Or are you scared?

Yes, I did the BIG CHOP (actually twice!)

I know there is much discussion over to do the BIG CHOP or not. I have been natural for 2 years and during my transition period I got so tired of trying to deal with the 2 textures – the new growth of natural hair and the old relaxed, straggly hair that was just hanging out on my ends. I was hard to create a decent hair style with these 2 textures so one day I cut about 80% of the relaxer off but I was scared to cut it any shorter. About two weeks went by and I decided why not – so I did! It was the best thing I ever did for my hair. Finally getting rid of all of the relaxer made me feel free! I wanted to shout from the mountain top that all of the creamy crack was gone.

Everyone has to do what is best for them but for me it was the BIG CHOP all the way!

My name is Yani and I am brand new to the blogging scene. I am starting this blog to share my thoughts on natural hair, being curvaceous, finding style bargains in thrift stores or flea markets, weight loss (or lack there of), my love of food, which could be the problem with the weight loss and just my random thoughts on anything that may pop into my mind.

I currently reside in Capitol Heights, MD. I am the mother of just one 10 year old boy who is the love of my life. I am recently engaged so I will not be offering any dating advice but I may give my thoughts on how to keep a relationship going.

I am a very simple woman that likes to keep as many “coins” in my pocket as possible. So I will share some of my frugal ways with you in hopes to keep the “coins” in your pocket too.

So sit back, relax, read, make comments and please share this blog with your friends!
